ODYSSEY –OUR JOURNEY

 

The genesis of GNPS is a boon/blessing in the field of education in Bidar. This dedicated institution has uplifted the morale of education in the terms of teaching, learning and holistic development of a child.

GNPS enters its 40th year of existence as a “pole star” in this education galaxy creating infinite (future leaders star with concrete human values. It has scaled many heights and has done the management, staff and its alumni proud)

By the grace of WaheGuru, our institution has reached the summit of three “S” factors i.e standard, satisfaction and success. This institution was pioneered by our “visionary man”--- Late Pant Ratan Shiromani Sardar Joga Singhji in the year 1975. He was a man of volcanic energy and a wonderful persona with empathetic heart who wanted to bring a revolutionary change in Bidar as it was considered as a laggard place in the aspect of educational development. His sleepless efforts made it a hub of education. He transformed his dream into a reality and today this torch of education ignited by him is carried on successfully.

Today under the meticulous guidance of Sardar Balbir singhji who is the president of Sri Nanak Jhira sahib foundation – Bidar, Guru Nanak Educational Institutions has soared high values where sky is the limit to it making it one of the best institution in entire Karnataka State.

A small seed, if nurtured, grows well as big as a banyan tree still further giving rise to new branches. Same is with our institution. Our school started with a humble beginning of 12 rooms, 15 teachers on the roll & 100 students. Now our school has flourished well with 150 rooms,  4500 students and 280 staff members on the roll.

The fundamentals of this institution lies in 3 H’s i.e Head, Heart and Hand and the belief of 3H’s is inculcated in the staff and students too. Headmistress, Principal and the staff are the pillars of strength of the school.

This compendium covers the profile and activities of our institution. It also gives an insight on the facilities and infrastructure offered by our school. We have well –equipped digital Library, computer laboratory, Maths Lab, Science Lab (physics, chemistry & Biology separately).Conference hall for conduction various workshops, co-curricular Activities. Playroom is wonderfully setup for small kids, infact that is their “dream world” special sports unit is established for both indoor & outdoor activities that always fascinate our school children having their own “Sports Arena”. We too have Dancing floors and Music room with combo of Musical instruments. Pre-Primary class-rooms are designed with different corners as – play corner, speaking corner, storytelling corner, activity corner etc. the colourful atmosphere of these class-rooms always motivates the little kinds to be in the school as their second home.

The school looks for the holistic development of the child which is based on CCE as per the norms of CBSE. To update the new folds, demands of the challenging education system, we regularly conduct workshops for our teachers and keep them in mainstream. Counseling sessions are also conducted for parents & teachers.

Our CCA is similar to “Rainbow” where children enjoy gliding over it like a Raindrop to explore and exhibit their talent. We have fun-filled and educating CCA activities. Our students of the four houses – lily, rose, lotus & sunflower always have to face tough competition to win the Best House trophy.

We have NCC & NSS which assist in building up patriotism in children. Scouts & Guide of our school frequently participate in the training camps & have won the “Rashtrapati Awards & Rajyapuraskar Awards”. Our sports department is always on its toes to bring laurels to the school. The year too, we are the winners of Table-Tennis & chess at District level and state level. Our school cricket team always comes out in flying colours.

Our “Project-Day” is always a “Science fair” for the Bidar city. New innovative projects from all the subjects are creatively designed. Parents, students and people of Bidar always wait for the “Science fete”. Annual Gathering (Day) is another special occasion which is eagerly awaiting by everyone which is celebrated in the month of January. We always give a social message to the society through entertainment with our themes like East-West- Jugalbandi, “Rappo – Ek Anokha Bandhan, etc.

Moreover every year our school conducts summer camp which is versatile with lot of fun and personality developing activities. The parents of Bidar, apart from our school take this summer camp as a golden opportunity for their kids.

Our school right from 1984 till date has achieved 100% result and record number of 10 CGPA. For the year i.e. 2013-14 our teachers were appreciated by The HRD Minister Mrs. Smruti Irani with a certificate signed by her for their excellent performance.

We are moving ahead with supersonic speed covering all the arenas of the education performing better day by day to create future leaders with concrete human values.
