School is an institution where children learn to understand the world they live in and get prepared to enter the society. Today, children are very sensitive they have a very high self esteem and believe in independent thinking. Inculcating moral values and a good sense of discipline is a big challenge for the schools in the changing social norms of the society. With a fine blend of Indian tradition and modernity GNPS imparts value based education with emphasis on sound character building. The classrooms of future are nurtured on the pillars of praise, motivation and strength. Our endevour is to inspire and empower our students to be a critical thinker, lifelong learner and a productive member of the changing global society.
Mrs Reshma Kaur
Vice-chairperson
Guru Nanak Group of Institutions- Bidar.

"Education has always been a cornerstone of society, the pillar on which the bulwark of human existence rests, the leading light as mankind made his way in quest of the unknown. While the art and science of education may have undergone changes since the time of yore, every educationist strives to instil in every student a sense of virtue and wisdom, sensitivity to the needs of others, the skills, the attitudes and habits that would help them explore and excel, a quest for knowledge and the power of action. All of these would propel each one to an all important goal - Excellence.
Parents, students and the school authorities are a team and complement each other's efforts.Education is not just a process of giving knowledge for a future job but a lifelong process which creates an understanding of moral and ethical values to guide one's life and make our students the future hope of the country.
At GuruNanak Public School, we hope to create an atmosphere of reverence for education and a healthy environment where work, sports and co-curricular activities will mould our students and spur them on to be the brightest and the best. In order to do this, the parents and the school authorities must work together to inculcate certain values in the students.Respect for one's elders, especially the teachers and a commitment to discipline are engraved in Indian culture. Let us inculcate these ideals in our younger generation.A student who has respect for the teacher will be more receptive to authority and to learning. This will enable him/her to get the best out of the school.
A student who is taught discipline will learn the power of self control. Freedom, to be truly effective, needs the guidance of discipline. To be successful, we need self-discipline which teaches us to sacrifice individual interest in favour of group interest. Just as a machine comes with a prescribed manual for its correct use, we want you to use the guidelines to get the best out of your children.Teach your children to respect school discipline and to be proud of it.The parents and school authorities together can instill proper discipline and basic values in the children while preparing them academically for their future. We request you to spend fifteen minutes if not more with your child, talking to him/her about his/her day in the school. Know your children, not just the homework they need to complete but also the friends they make and the problems they face in school, in the school bus or at play. Try to create a sense of purpose in the children and be their friend. Encourage him/her to do his/her work regularly from day one.
Please do attend the Parent-Teacher Meetings regularly. You are welcome to meet the teachers by appointment if there is any health problem. It is important to inform the class teacher about any change in address and telephone number. It is also very important that all fees are paid on time.
As someone who has a wonderful opportunity to shape over 5000 brilliant minds each day , I assure that Guru Nanak Public School will always remain the foremost temple of learning , where there are "equal opportunities to all so that they rise to their fullest potential".
We welcome your suggestions. Please send them addressed to 'The Principal, Guru Nanak Public School"and we shall ensure that necessary action is taken. You can mail/fax your letter or drop it into the Suggestion Box kept in the school office. Finally, please go through the almanac for information about various activities and encourage your child to participate in them.
We wish you all a very rewarding and successful experience at Guru Nanak Public School "

As I walk down the hallways of the school everyday, I can hear the chatter of eager minds, the shouts of excitement from the victorious athletes, the thump of dancer feet and the sound of melodious voices harmonizing. The perpetual energy, movement and enthusiasm permeate the atmosphere at Guru Nanak Public School. We are a school with a difference! We value individualism, creativity and innovation and strive to nurture them in our students.
Our motto “Spread the Light” is at the heart of everything we do at the school. We aim to not just impart knowledge to the students, but also to inculcate in them - wisdom, compassion and a humanitarian spirit. We have a multi-cultural student population; hence we teach children the importance of tolerance and respecting each other’s culture. Discipline, values and integrity are the very foundation of this school.
Besides rigorous scholastic programmes, we seek to develop and nurture the different facets of a child. The school encourages all students to participate in a variety of co-curricular activities from dance, art and drama to a variety of sports to social work to environmental conservation activities, (the list goes on). It is important for a child to explore and find their strengths in order to reach their true potential. Whether a child is an introvert or extrovert personality, the aim is to nurture the child into a self-confident individual.
As a school we think about how to engage students and hold their attention. If a lesson is to be productive, how do we make sure the students actually absorb the topic? With this constant question in our mind we continuously upgrade our teaching tools and techniques as well as our academic programmes. In a technology prevalent world today, we appeal to young minds by incorporating smart boards, tablet computers and mobile devices into the teaching-learning process.
Our mission is to continue to do what we have always done: develop this school and the students with integrity and values; also, to give our students the best opportunities and the best all-round education. Our vision is to produce conscientious, smart and confident citizens of India who will go out into the world and make us proud!
At Guru Nanak Public School, it is our endeavor to delve deeper into the true purpose of education by giving our students opportunities and an environment that is positive, inspiring, challenging and stimulating. We want each one of our students to follow their bliss, blaze new trails and open new doors. I am proud of the parents and teachers who care, nurture and reassure the children so that they grow into mature, sensitive and responsible citizens of the country.
